Bringing your data from GoHighLevel

Import your GoHighLevel contacts safely: rehearse first, skip duplicates, and never overwrite work done in Asphalt OS.

Import step by step

This page is for GoHighLevel exports. Customers from any other spreadsheet (Excel, Google Sheets, QuickBooks, another CRM) go in through Customers, with a permission of its own.

Open Setup & migration, Import from GoHighLevel. You need "Import and migrate data" (the Controller and the CEO in a new company).

  1. Choose a CSV file exported from GoHighLevel (up to 20 MB and 10,000 rows), or paste it.
  2. Press Rehearse (changes nothing). It shows, row by row, what would happen. Rehearse as often as you like.
  3. Press Import and confirm. It does exactly what the rehearsal showed. Changing the file clears the rehearsal.

What happens to each row

  • Error: no name, phone or email, or no Contact Id.
  • Skip: the row belongs to the sub-account you chose to leave alone.
  • Duplicate: the same contact as an earlier row, or the same phone or email as a lead you already have.
  • Update: its stage or value changed since the last import.
  • Unchanged, or Create.

Every record keeps its GoHighLevel id, stage, created date and tags. Tags become fields.

What an import never does

  • It never changes a lead your team already worked in Asphalt OS: one with a job, or one changed since the last import.
  • It creates no tasks, messages or jobs.
  • It gives no texting consent. Contacts come in without it until they opt in.
  • It is all or nothing: if anything fails, nothing is imported.

Later imports update what changed instead of copying it again. Past imports are listed, each with its row-by-row record.
