Record a load
On Loads, a driver fills in Record a load: the job (jobs scheduled to their crew within a week either way), the plant, the truck (one of yours, or an outside hauler), the ticket number and the tons. Then one big button: Loaded at plant now.
At the job, the truck appears under On the road. Tap On site now: the app shows the minutes from plant to site.
- The same ticket number twice at one plant is refused.
- A loaded time can't be in the future, and the arrival must come after the loading.
- This page has no prices.
Recording loads needs "Record truck loads at the plant and on site": the Crew member, Foreman and Dispatcher roles have it.
The office view
"See load tickets and the truck cycle" shows every ticket: Today's loads and Jobs this week, with planned against delivered tons.
Tons: planned vs actual for a job shows the tons planned on the estimate, delivered on tickets and reported by the crew, and the difference: more than planned in red, less in green. Its Truck cycle table lists each ticket with the plant, the truck, the tons, loaded, on site, plant to site and who recorded it.
Plants and equipment needs
Plants & equipment lists your asphalt plants. + Add plant takes a name, the supplier, the address, and whether you buy from it. Typed map coordinates always win over the address lookup.
Pick a job to see its site, its first work day and the nearest plants: 5 of them, by straight-line miles from the job site, not road miles.
A job can list the equipment it needs: what and how many, each marked Needed, "We have it" or "Ordered or rented". Check against our fleet marks a need as covered when you have enough units of that kind.
Order tasks when a job is scheduled
When a job gets its date, the dispatcher (or your operations person) gets tasks, due at 4 PM on the working day before the first work day:
- "Order asphalt: about ... tons", worked out from the estimate with 5% waste. A job without hot mix gets "Order materials" instead.
- "Book equipment and trucking".
- "Order or rent" for each equipment need still marked Needed.
Seeing plants needs "See asphalt plants and equipment needs"; adding plants and managing needs takes "Add plants and manage equipment needs".
The address lookup uses a free US Census service that receives the addresses. The Address lookup card on Connections chooses it; until then the page says it is using a stand-in, and no address is sent out.
