Where
Team & security, Audit log tab. It needs "See the audit log": VP Operations, the VP Sales and the Controller in a new company, and the CEO. It lists when, who and what happened, newest first, 80 at a time, with Show older.
What it records
- Changes to people, their roles and their exceptions, with the reason given.
- Changes to roles and their permissions.
- Company settings, brands, time limits, routing and automation switches.
- Invites and imports, including customer imports and their undo, and every merge of two customers.
- Every reveal of a Social Security number, and every security event (a sign-in from a new device, a lockout, a reset).
- Changes to many business records.
It reads in plain words, for example "Changed Dana's role from Estimator to Office manager". What Automation did shows as "Automation". People who can see the history log also see field changes on a customer's timeline.
Where a sign-in or a change came from (the address and the browser) shows only to the person it concerns and to people who manage people; everyone else sees the line without it.
Nobody can change it
Entries are added, never edited or deleted, by anyone. The database refuses.
What it leaves out
Some things are never copied into it: Social Security numbers, bank tokens, the secret parts of links sent to customers and invites, and what the company pays for materials.
